Web Designer

Glo & Co have an exciting opportunity for a Web Designer to join the team.

Location: Remote

**Salary**: £24,000-£26,000 per annum (DOE)

**Job Type**: Permanent, Full time (35 hours)

Work Hours: Monday-Friday 7 Hours a day. Flexible with core hours between 11am - 3pm

We're Glo&Co. A new, eCommerce focused studio specialising in creating bespoke solutions for our unique clients.

We're looking to hire a mid-weight graphic designer that's super passionate about pushing the needle forward to create beautiful, fun, award winning websites.

Our developers here have a passion for pixel perfection and creating fun, engaging designs. They love a challenge and pushing the boundaries of what can be done through the use of design / UX, so we're looking for someone with new and interesting ideas to drive them even further, finding pioneering solutions to unusual problems.

Web Designer - The Role:
Day to day, you will be extending existing website design, implementing new features and elements that fit within the clients already existing design language. You'll be creating designs for both eCommerce sites (homepage to checkout) and SASS sites.

There will also be opportunities to create brand guidelines from scratch. You will need the autonomy to be able to go off and learn what the audience should be for a new SASS or eCommerce project, taking the information you have gathered and making a design that you feel works.

You will need to stay up to date with design skills and UI/UX trends as you will frequently be designing prototypes, wireframes, user flows, and mockups to help illustrate plans and features. Our designers should work defensively, creating clean, repeatable components and designing them to work responsively.

Web Designer - Key Responsibilities:

- Working with clients and understanding their requirements, based on their customer base
- Teamwork. Whilst we're a fully remote team, we have a strong ethos of teamwork. We're an outgoing bunch and we need someone with a personality that will complement the rest of the team
- Testing to ensure that both the look and feel of what you're designing comes across in to the finished product. This will include brand language and motion design of the website. There is no one better than you, the designer, to determine if this has been executed effectively

Web Designer - You:
Ideally, you will have at least 2 years' of experience as a Graphic Designer within an agency or commercial experience. If your experience falls a bit shy, but you meet the rest of the essential criteria, we'd still love to hear from you.

Essential:

- An excellent understanding of UI/UX and how it differs between audiences
- Well versed in the concepts and principles of design, product strategy, testing, validation and user research
- Proficient in Sketch or Figma (Sketch preferred)
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong design thinking skills
- Good time management skills
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Self motivated / Self starter
- An understanding of website ux

Desirable:

- An understanding of Google analytics
- An understanding of accessibility design
- Experience with Adobe
- Motion graphics / Animation
