We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is looking to recruit a Motor Vehicle Fitter.
Successful applicants must have an NVQ 3 or City & Guilds equivalent in motor vehicle maintenance.
Duties of the role include:
- Performing all duties using methods in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- To diagnose, identify, and carry out major and minor servicing.
- Conducting preventative maintenance to vehicles and plant in accordance with the scheduled specifications of the Sheffield City Council.
- Preparing vehicles for MOT testing.
- Carrying out PDI’s to new vehicles and plant.
- Providing technical support and advice when required.
- Carrying out repairs, remedial work, and inspecting breakdowns at work sites, depots or workshops throughout the city with a minimum of supervision.
- Assisting in the recovery of vehicles and plant to depot workshops.
- Conducting safe working load tests for operational vehicle tail lift equipment.
- To diagnose, identify, and carryout vehicle electrical repairs, providing technical support and advice when required.
- To be responsible for the maintenance and good working order of all equipment specific to the testing station whilst working in this area.
- To notify the supervisor of any defective workshop equipment or plant.
- Assisting with the development of Apprentices.
- Completing all documentation - digital or paper-based - in a timely and accurate manner.
This position is full time working Monday-Friday 6am-2pm, paying £14.29ph.
