**Job description**:
DIO Regional Delivery Overseas and Training (OS&Trg) provides a range of infrastructure and training support functions across the UK and overseas. The organisation is Head of Establishment (HoE) for the UK Defence Training Estate, provides direct training support to UK Armed Forces and wider MOD, in addition to supporting Cadets, Over Government Departments and Foreign Armed Forces. We provide these services overseas in Germany, Canada, Kenya and Belize, where we are not HoE. OS&Trg lead all aspects of the provision of a Training Estate that is of the right size and standard against the endorsed need, fit for purpose, safe, well led, balanced and critical to social and environmental considerations. OS&Trg also provides infrastructure support functions in the Permanent Joint Operating Bases (PJOB) and Far East. This encompasses Cyprus, Gibraltar, the Falkland Islands, Ascension Island, Nepal, Brunei and Singapore.

We are the forerunners for the military training estate in Wales and West Midlands, ensuring safe place of the training estate by making available to the customer safe and compliant infrastructure.

The Training Safety Marshall (TSM) will support the Training Safety Officer (TSO) in the provision and maintenance of the regions training facilities at Sennybridge Defence Training Estate and Range complexes to ensure and provide a safe place for training to be conducted and to advise all users, the public and local bodies on safety.

They will keep up to date on all the needs of the units who utilise the facilities in order to brief and assist units to achieve the best results in their training from using the available facilities and ranges. The TSM needs to work closely with both Units and our Industry Partners daily to ensure we deliver the best service.

The TSM will scrutinise the range standing orders and relevant paperwork submitted by training units ensuring all levels of safety are adhered to by the units. The TSM actions should reflect personal integrity, enthusiasm and conscientiousness to maintaining safety and safe place throughout the training areas of responsibility.

They should have a passion for safety ensuring that the public are assured and kept safe at all times. They will attend meetings chaired by the TSO to brief visiting units and members of the public on the latest safety information.

Due to this post being situated in a remote location a Full UK Driving Licence will be necessary.

**Desirable Skills & Experience**

Range and Training Management 1 - 3 Qualifications or the Nationally recognised Civilian Equivalent.
Stores Management/Accountancy
Fighting In Built Up Areas (FIBUA) Instructor or proven experience

**Person specification**:

- Deputise management and oversight of all dry training (including Operations in Built Up Areas (OBUA) and the use of pyro techniques) in compliance with Defence Regulations and Standing Orders.
- Brief users on all safety procedures and conduct of training. Provide training advice, mentorship and support to ensure optimum use of regional estate.
- Assist in the management of OME ensuring the current regulations are followed.
- Step up to support regional management in the utilisation of other Training Facilities.
- Assist the TSO SENTA with routine safety related written orders.
- Carry out Inspections and Audits to ensure safe place is optimised and if possible improved.
- Monitoring of contractors performance.
- Manage and facilitate Camp facilities in accordance with regulations and policy.
- Assist TSO on Fire Management across Defence Training Estate and Sennybridge Camp.
