The primary role of the Support Officer is to provide a proactive and responsive support service to the Service Manager and Operations Managers of Ambulance Care. You must be able to remain flexible and agile to change of assignment to meet the needs of the service.

The post holder will be responsible for accurate preparation of high standard written materials and for maintaining records which will include handling sensitive and confidential staff and patient information. The post holder will act as the first point of contact for all methods of communication, including diary management, on behalf of the Service and Operations Managers. There is a requirement to remain calm and collected when under pressure, particularly whilst engaging with internal and external colleagues during periods of heightened operational pressures.

The post holder is expected to work flexibly to support the NEPTS Department, will liaise with other departments on behalf of NEPTS, and will assist and support colleagues where required.

The post holder shall be trained as a loggist and provide loggist support to assigned commanders, as well as support the effective operation of an Incident Coordination Centre when required.

The post holder will review the operation of administrative and support procedures for NEPTS and recommend and implement any necessary improvements.

The Non Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) provides transport for patient requiring transport to locations across Wales ensuring that patients receive excellent care. The NEPTS service is undertaking development and transformation to meet the needs of the patients we transport in line with Local Delivery Plans and Integrated Medium Term Plans.

We are looking for someone to provide Business Administrative Support, communication, coordination and planning for the General Manager and Operational Management team. The role will be challenging and varied and will require excellent administration and planning skills along with the ability to interact with other teams and external partners in a fast paced environment..

The location will be based in Vantage Point house/ Beacon house Welsh Ambulance Service Regional Headquarters.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
