Based in London, and reporting to our Head of International Communications, this is a senior role co-ordinating Bank of America’s media strategy and execution across the EMEA region.
**Role content**
Working closely with our existing communications team members and as a key member of our broader EMEA communications, marketing and corporate affairs leadership, the new head of external communications will oversee the creation and implementation of a comprehensive,cohesive media relations strategy for the EMEA region covering each of our fast-growing global banking and global markets businesses, world class research team and enterprise priorities, including ESG and D&I thought leadership:
- Ensuring external messaging for EMEA is aligned with our international priorities and global positioning
- Identifying opportunities to build new media relationships and strengthen existing ones across all EMEA markets to support growth priorities
- Elevating the reputation of company and executives in the region across external audiences
- Creating new proactive, comprehensive campaigns to highlight the strengths of our business and in line with our marketing priorities
- Coaching and supporting our external communication team members
- Managing and developing our EMEA PR agency network
- Identifying additional key external opinion leaders and ensuring Bank of America’s strategy is well understood
- Leading the local response on critical reputational issues
- Assessing and executing on our awards strategy
**Key skills**:

- Strategic and creative thinker, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- World class relationship management, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to work proactively with an impeccable approach to reputational risk
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and delegate effectively
- Highly responsive and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Proven managerial track record
- Proven success managing agencies and multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent existing relationships with top tier global media and relevant trade publications
- Deep understanding of investment banking
