Our client is working in partnership with Rolls - Royce SMR (small modular reactor) to recruit a number of Configuration Engineers to join the programme. The roles are crucial to the programme, covering the entire power station configuration management. **The Company** Rolls-Royce SMR is a start-up joint special purpose vehicle (SPV) business, specifically created to design, construct and deliver a new fleet of Small Modular Reactor power plants that will be a critical and strategic player in the race to Net Zero carbon emissionsglobally. Spun out of Rolls-Royce with its pedigree in engineering excellence but also attracting world class inward investment this is an exciting new business with an optimistic opportunity to be a global player in the coming years. **The Post** **Key Responsibilities** Working with the engineering functions, establish and maintain configuration baselines to support key programme dates and demonstrate the completeness and maturity by generating formal reporting such as Master Records Index, plant weight schedule and key metrics. Managing product change in accordance with change process, working with engineering and programme functions to ensure each change is investigated, impacts assessed and approved changes enacted fully and then formally recorded. Manage the integration of parts, assemblies, systems, modules between different design responsible areas. Exchange design definition and supporting data internally and externally to the Rolls-Royce SMR organisation, demonstrate alignment of content between data sources whilst observing IP and export control restrictions. Contribute to the development of configuration plans, policies and processes that Configuration management and the wider Rolls-Royce SMR organisation operates within. Represent Configuration Management across the programme, at gated reviews and externally to the Rolls-Royce SMR organisation. Develop working practices for change specialist activities, data exchange processes, product structure control and reporting and analytics. Nurture a culture of shared configuration responsibility, principles and language across the programme through engagement and training. Support the development, UAT and implementation of the software solutions required by Configuration. **Required Competencies** Understands the appropriate level of Risk in the Company. Has a grasp of any implications of Public Relations. Understands and applies appropriate Corporate Governance to decision making. Understands appropriate Commercial and Corporate law decision making. Understands Safety & UK Regulatory Affairs Ability to influence large programmes and engineering teams and implement new processes and methods Skilled in configuration management and related processes, methods and tools.
