**Location: Underley Garden, Kirkby Lonsdale**

**Salary: £10.52 per hour**

**Hours: 12-18 hours per week, Monday/Wednesday/Friday**

**Contract: Permanent, Term Time only**

**We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Underley Garden in Kirkby Lonsdale.**

**About the School**

Underley Garden is a large site which hosts a large school provision and a residential children’s home across several buildings. All children who attend the school and live within the home have EHCP’s due to their special educational needs.

Underley meets the needs of a range of SEN including Autism, Learning Difficulties, Mental Health & Medical needs and related behavioural difficulties.

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to children, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.

**About the Role**

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant who will support the Cook with producing high quality lunches to staff and the young people in our care.

You will be a responsible, friendly and an organised person who has a passion for providing nutritious lunches for both staff and young people, considering the requirements of Healthy Schools

**Essential Criteria**
- To assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages
- To provide a clean, hygienic and well-presented environment
- Good communication skills
- Compassionate - good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children and young people, and other staff remaining sensitive and empathetic
- Intuitive and caring nature
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and young people
- Desirable - food safety/hygiene knowledge or qualification
