Bulk Annuity Origination

You'll be joining us in Insurance, Pensions and Investments, within the Bulk Annuity Team. We're responsible for origination, execution and structuring of Bulk Annuities under the Scottish Widows Brand. You'll be implementing the pricing strategy for BulkAnnuities, working closely with the Insurance business to deliver a large number of quotes, and, where successful completing those transactions with pension schemes.

As a Manager in this team, your focus will be on managing the end-to-end bulk annuity process from working closely with the pricing team to implement our pricing processes, efficiently and effectively through to delivery and execution with origination andlegal colleagues. Your remit will also include driving process improvements within the team and working with colleagues across the business on ad-hoc tasks where pricing expertise is needed.

**Would you like to further develop your Actuarial career, at the forefront of Bulk Annuities?**

On a typical day, you may be producing or checking cash flow projections used to calculate premiums for bulk annuity quotations, or supporting colleagues (both more senior and more junior) with other tasks linked to bulk annuity contracts already in place.Alternatively, you may be involved in the marketing or execution of one of our potential bulk annuity contracts.

**Your accountabilities will include**:

- Developing and maintaining relationships with the EBCs and reinsurers
- Validating and manipulating large complex data sets
- Liaising with reinsurers to obtain and analyse reinsurance quotes to understand cost vs benefit
- Developing and maintaining an in depth technical knowledge of our models and products
- Summarising and presenting complex technical information
- Delivering high quality results whether internally through pricing or externally through negotiating and implementing new transactions
- Calling out, managing and mitigating risks in a timely manner

**What you'll bring to this role?**

It's essential that you're:

- Qualified Actuary (or nearly qualified)
- Have experience working with insurers and pension schemes in the bulk annuity market
- Commercially minded and have had some previous exposure to pricing and/or bulk annuity execution activity
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel

You'll also have well-honed analytical skills, great attention to detail and be able to communicate credibly and clearly to colleagues at all levels.

**Location and Ways of Working**

Our team works out of our London hub therefore we'll need you to be based a commutable distance from this area. We work in a hybrid model, splitting our time between the office and working from home.
