**Main Responsibilities**
We are seeking people with HGV licenses to work within our Specialist Surface Treatments division. The work is physical and outdoors but it’s also rewarding. You’ll be part of a crew, delivering work that improves communities and local infrastructure.

Day to day, you’ll install/remove Traffic Management as required; prepare roads for surface treatment including protection of iron work; and safely carry out road repairs and improvements using various surface treatment processes.

The role will require you to stay away from home. We operate a variety of shift patterns, but you’ll need to be flexible and able to stay away in mobile accommodation. Because the work is delivered across the UK, we can be flexible on where you’re basedbut ideally, you’ll be in/near one of the following geographies:
Newcastle upon Tyne; Grimsby; West Yorkshire; North Wales; Grantham; Trowbridge; Kent

This involves working in various locations within the UK, including every other weekend during the main season. Colas will provide mobile accommodation and you will receive a subsistence payment.

We are looking for flexible / hardworking individuals who, ideally, have experience in similar highways maintenance roles and HGV 2/1 driving or plant/machinery experience. You will be comfortable working within a small team, under mínimal supervision. You’llbe able to communicate effectively with colleagues and the public.

Most importantly is that you enjoy working outdoors, in all weathers, within a crew on a flexible working pattern.

It is essential you will hold a Valid UK Driving Licence and HGV 2 Licence and it would be an advantage if you have any of the following qualifications:

- CPC
- CSCS Card
- NRSWA
- NVQ (Micro Surfacing/Road Building)
- Traffic Management T1/T2
- Banksman
