Locations

This role is based in the Natural Capital and Economics team which sits within the Science Directorate of the Chief Scientist’s Directorate in Natural England. This Directorate is responsible for Natural England’s Science, Evidence and Evaluation Strategy and supports its implementation to ensure Natural England is an evidence-led organisation.

**Role Responsibility**
- Bringing together the evidence required to support and promote the development of the natural capital approach and developing the tools required to make that a reality.
- Providing natural capital input to Local Nature Recovery Strategies, Nature Recovery Network, Environmental Land Management, marine and strategic plans for places work.
- Supporting coaching and training in natural capital to Natural England staff.
- Publishing and communicating Natural England’s natural capital evidence and tools.
- Providing specialist natural capital support for Area Teams’ projects and operational delivery.
- Providing reactive natural capital specialist advice internally and externally.

Specific responsibilities will develop and change over time, and the post holder will need to maintain a flexible and adaptable attitude and approach.

The cross-cutting nature of the role means there is significant scope for personal development and developing areas of personal interest. The post holder will be provided with support in the role by Natural Capital Senior Specialists. We also have a strong informal and formal training offer.

The location is fully flexible across England, and we are open to home-working, being office-based or a mixture of the two. We can accommodate flexible working patterns.
