White Gold Cornwall works with children, young people, and adults across the whole of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly providing 1:1 mentoring support to help them navigate through life’s challenges.
We aim to support, guide and, if appropriate, challenge young people who:
- Are vulnerable or at risk.
- Present unacceptable or challenging behaviour.
- Are excluded from, or failing to engage in, education.
- Lack confidence, self-esteem and/or social skills.
- Are involved, or at risk of becoming involved, with the Law.
We are looking for an **Engagement Worker** to engage informally with children and young people e.g., a country walk, coffee, and chat, sharing hobbies, visiting local museums, swimming, sports, etc. on a sessional basis, primarily on weekends but weekday work is also available.
You would be fully trained and insured by us to work safely with young people. You will need to hold a full UK driving license and have access to your own vehicle. The successful applicant(s) would also need to obtain Business Car Insurance.
We are currently in the process of designing and building a Case Management System to introduce across the organisation early 2025. White Gold Cornwall will provide all the necessary hardware required, however it is essential that the successful applicant has sufficient IT skills.

**Pay**:£13.50 per hour (standard), £25.00 per hour (weekend)
**Location**:Camborne/ Hayle/ Helston and the surrounding areas
As an Engagement Worker, you will be required to:
- Engage with young people on a 1:1 basis, working with the referrers and carers to provide appropriate support for young people from ages 5 - 35yrs old.
- Provide high quality monthly reports on all young people supported.
- Attend multi-agency meetings, Children in Need meetings, and other meetings as requested by the referrers to act as an advocate for all young people supported.
- Attend regular supervisions to discuss performance and caseload.
- Undergo training as required by the organisation.
- Communicate with referrers/carers, sometimes outside of your normal working hours, to discuss the progress/ next steps for a young person.

- Undergo and attend training as required by the organisation.
- Communicate with referrers/carers, sometimes outside of your normal working hours, to discuss the progress/ next steps for a young person.

- Work unsocial hours, as some referrals require evenings or weekends
- Availability to travel slightly further (up to 25miles) in exceptional circumstances to some vulnerable young people
- Knowledge of the local amenities and recreational opportunities available
