We have an excellent opportunity available for a Deputyship Officer to join our team at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full time, permanent basis.

As Deputyship Officer you will play a key role in managing financial affairs for those people for whom we have been appointed Deputy or Appointee and delivering the best outcomes for the people of the borough of Wokingham. This will include securing appropriate income (including State Benefits), paying all care and other bills and ensuring appropriate investments are made on behalf of clients.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Managing all aspects of client’s finances and property including dealing with tenancy agreements.
- Administration of any house sales in consultation with the Office of the Public Guardian. Arrange with Adult Social Care, appropriate house clearances where required.
- To attend visits to clients, carers, or other agencies as required and in accordance with the Code of Practice for Deputies. To act as a point of contact for the Association of Public Authority Deputies (APAD), attend seminars as applicable including representing WBC at any APAD and other relevant Conferences/Meetings as deemed necessary. Attend Court of Protection user groups.
- Completing annual financial management reports to the Office of Public Guardian for all clients. Conduct bank reconciliations.
- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent (including Maths and English)
- Computer literate and have a good understanding of word and excel.
- Relevant experience of working within a finance related post.
- Full Driving Licence and use of car.
