Lili Waste Services Ltd is a dynamic privately owned waste collection company. We currently operate in Kent, London, Hampshire, Yorkshire and South Wales.

Department/Location: Operations - based at Leeds, covering Leeds but may be required to cover other locations as and when needed. Please note**:This is an afternoon shift.**

Overall Role
- To drive the company’s HGV’s in a professional and competent manner and be courteous to other road users at all times

To ensure that goods are delivered and collected from agreed locations according to company policies and arrangements

To liaise with the operational management to ensure the most cost-effective utilisation/operation of all Company vehicles.

50 hours a week on an afternoon shift with paid lunch.

Bonus payments also given (will be discussed following probation period)

Key Responsibilities

Trade waste collections from various sites in the area.

Responsible for the implementation of the Lili Waste Health and Safety policy in all vehicle/fleet-related activities

You will be responsible for ensuring all vehicle checks are undertaken within the company policies and procedures. This will include daily walk around checks, vehicle defect reporting and Nil defect returns

Have a good understanding of DVSA regulations in terms of vehicle safety, graduated fixed penalties and tachograph use

Operate within EU drivers’ hours regulations which include adequate daily/weekly rest and maximum weekly driving time

Operate within the Road Transport Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations which include adequate daily/weekly rest

You will be responsible for driving and operating company vehicles within an appropriate manner which includes safe and secure loading practices, safe driving and drive within the Highway Code and current UK speed limits

You will be required to clean vehicle weekly and to keep your vehicle clean and tidy at all times.

All drivers are expected to maintain on a daily basis records (either on paper or electronic) of loads, fuel, weight tickets, transfer notes and any other paperwork as instructed by the Operations team. All paperwork must be handed in to the Operations Team at the end of each shift electronically.

You will be expected to report any incidents or accidents however small immediately or as a minimum at the earliest convenience to the Operation’s Team.

You will be expected to assist with the transportation of Waste/Recyclable materials from specified locations to designated tip sites in a timely and safe manner.

You will be expected to attend any training in-line with the role.

Person Specification

Must have appropriate driving licence indicating entitlement for the class of vehicle you are expected to drive.

Must have digital tachograph experience and drivers’ card.

Must have full driver CPC card.

Preferably waste industry experience.

Good communications skill.

Must be a team player.

Ability to re-evaluate priorities, responding quickly and positively to change is imperative.

Must have a flexible personable approach with good people skills customer focused.
