Axcis Education are looking for a knowledgeable, nurturing and committed year 1, 1:1 special educational needs teaching assistant to support in a primary mainstream school in the Sutton Coldfield area. You must have experience with year 1 and phonics to be able to fulfil this role.

The role is a full-time job, Monday - Friday - 8:30 am - 3:30pm and it is starting ASAP.

This is a special needs teaching Assistant role working within a mainstream primary school catering for children and young people from the ages 3-11. This school requires a year 1, 1:1 teaching assistant who is experienced with phonics.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to support students that have additional needs.

Your role will be to:

- Work under the guidance and instructions of the classroom Teacher
- Continually develop the pupil educationally, emotionally and socially
- Take part in extracurricular activities/ school days out
- Be responsible for the safeguarding of the pupil at all times
- Ensure the pupil’s safety, wellbeing and welfare
- Report any concerns to a senior member of staff/ DSL/ DSO
- To supervise the pupil during break times, lunch time and after school clubs if needed
- To create stimulating classwork for the pupil, which will enable the pupil to learn
