Due to substantial success and a robust order book, both presently and projected, we have an opportunity for a skilled pipefitter/welders to join our team at our Prudhoe based facility on a permanent basis.

As a pipefitter/welder at Heat Exchange Group Services, a company with a legacy spanning over 200 years, you'll play a crucial role in the preparation of pipes and metal sections for the fabrication of various components, such as plate heat exchangers and shell and tube heat exchangers. Your expertise may extend to related fields, such as preparing materials for storage tanks in the oil and liquid industries, engaging in shipbuilding, or contributing to the production of structural steelwork for oil rigs, bridges, and buildings.

**Your skills and duties**
- Set up and operate machinery -typical machines include saw, prepping, guillotine, grinders, and drills.
- Material preparation, marking out of materials, cutting, burning, prepping, plating, and general fabrication activities of pressure parts and ancillary components (e.g. headers, pipework, & attachments).
- Assembly and erection of products and components such as fabrications, vessels, tube bundles, and modular fabrications.
- Have experience of working with steel and stainless-steel materials such as, ASTM516-GR70, A106B, A105N / 304/ 316L stainless steels.
- Raw material and processed goods movement around the factory and work area as required.
- Use of factory overhead cranes for material movements, loading and unloading vehicles.
- Ensure processed goods are inspected and meet the required quality standards and or requirements.
- Manage workload to suit production requirements.
- Notify supervisors of any errors, damages, and or rejections. Arrange repair, rectification, and or quarantine where appropriate.
- Keep the work area and respective machines clean, tidy, and organized.
- Participate in other general factory activities as reasonably requested.
- Actively manage and take a proactive approach to health and safety and environmental issues in all aspects (using our relevant manuals/training), in line with our core value of ‘safety first’.

**Your qualifications and core competencies**
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Good communication skills.
- Apprentice trained with relevant skill qualification e.g., NVQ L3 in fabrication and welding, is essential.
- Experience with a similar product base, i.e. pressure vessels.
- The ability to tack/weld fabricated parts together and be a coded TIG/MIG welder is highly advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings is essential.
- Some mathematical ability.
- Good concentration skills for using machinery and equipment safely and accurately.
- Practical hand skills for using tools and equipment.
- Able to work without direct supervision, and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail for working in accordance with quality standards.
- A sound understanding and respect for health and safety.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week

**Experience**:

- Pipefitting: 2 years (preferred)
