Job Introduction
We are looking for a Team Assistant to provide part-time secretarial/administrative support to the Director, BBC Scotland and his team.
Main Responsibilities
In this role you will provide professional and confidential secretarial support to the Scotland Director's Office.
You will assist with the running and organisation of the office through tasks such as diary management, booking travel, handling incoming mail, receiving visitors, ordering hospitality, maintaining records/information, drafting correspondence and preparation of briefing documents.
In addition to the above, you may be required to provide support on projects and events as appropriate.
You should have prior administrative experience, the ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and thorough knowledge of office systems and procedures. You should be adept at technology and possess excellent Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
You should demonstrate well-developed communication and interpersonal skills in order to manage editorial and management contacts with tact and consideration (both verbally and in writing).
You should be detail-orientated and have the ability to react to constant changes in priorities by re-organising work to meet shifting deadlines and targets.
A good working knowledge of the BBC, its organisation and latest structure with a good current awareness of the media industry and a demonstrable knowledge of BBC Scotland and its output would be beneficial.
