**JOB TITLE**: QCMD Quality Assurance Assistant

**LOCATION**:Unit 5, 5 Technology Terrace, Todd Campus, West of Scotland Science Park, Glasgow G20 0XA

**POSITION REPORTS TO**: Quality Manager

**JOB SUMMARY**:
Support the Quality Team in the management, maintenance, and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in keeping with the requirements of the business and its accreditation to ISO17043. Perform internal audits to agreed schedule and support the timely resolution of quality events.

**EXPERIENCE**:
**ESSENTIAL SKILLS**
- Excellent communication skills both orally and in all written forms including reports and note taking.
- Good IT & numerical skills including making effective use of Word and Excel.
- An enthusiastic, motivated, flexible and proactive approach to working to schedules and meeting targets to deliver exceptional service
- Excellent attention to detail
- Professionalism and using initiative
- Managing workload and prioritising: capability to multi-task and prioritise as and when required
- Good interpersonal skills

**Preferred but not essential**
- Background in microbiology / life sciences
- Experience in/of internal auditing.
- Previous experience of working with/understanding of ISO17043/13485/15189 or similar.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Supporting the Quality Team in managing, maintaining, and administering the QCMD QMS including the electronic quality management software.
- Performing internal audits in line with the requirements of the business and its accreditation to ISO17043.
- Participating in the review of quality events, verify root-causes and the corrective actions taken and facilitate their timely closure.
- Follow-up of Corrective, Preventive and Improvement actions against target dates and updating / maintaining records.
- Assisting the Quality Team with the review and approval of QCMD’s suppliers.
- Collate and summarise quality related data to be presented in monthly Quality reports (e.g. Complaints/Non-conformances/approved suppliers’ status/review of internal documents/status of internal audit schedule etc.).
- Training and advising co-workers and colleagues in relation to the requirements of ISO17043.
- Assist the Quality Team in monitoring of key subcontractor quality performance.

**SALARY: from £21,000+ **_dependent on experience_

**Job Types**: Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
