School Caretaker

New Directions Education are recruiting for School Caretakers, to cover temporary positions in Secondary Schools in Bridgend. The roles available are long and short-term temporary, covering internal staff absences such as sickness or maternity.

The working hours can vary depending on each schools’ specific requirements. Secondary school caretakers will be required to work split-shifts, such as 6.30am - 9.30am and 3pm - 6pm. School caretaker are also often required to work during school holidays

School caretakers are responsible for the overall upkeep, maintenance and security of the grounds and premises.

Our clients are seeking hardworking and motived applicants with an excellent awareness of health and safety. Previous school caretaker experience is desirable but not essential, however all applicants must have experience working in a building / maintenance / trades role, with excellent practical knowledge and transferable skills.

**The duties of a school Caretaker include**:

- General maintenance and minor repairs
- Liaising with contractors
- Managing heating and alarm systems
- Security
- Opening and closing the school
- Basic cleaning
- Key holding.
