Our NPD team work closely with clients to achieve new and exciting concepts. A rapid turnaround of samples enables our customer NPD departments to launch new products promptly and along with our vastly experienced technical team, we ensure a smooth transitional period onto product launches.

Our client portfolio includes some of the nation’s most respected companies supplying to a wide range of business sectors including the travel sector, food service centres, and sandwich manufactures which go indirectly to the supermarket chains. Whether you require ambient, frozen or part baked bread, our time honoured recipes, traditional know how and dedicated team of bakers ensure you will receive a consistent supply of high quality breads.

To be responsible for monitoring and inspecting processes in order to meet Il Fornaio’s established quality standards. To proactively provide the technical and administrative support to the technical team to the enforcement of safety, quality, legal, auditing and inspection requirements of Il Fornaio’s products.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure that all food safety as well as health & safety requirements are met, including the use of PPE
- be responsible for own safety and for that of others
- Ensure all products produced within following Criteria: Food safety, Food Quality, Personal Hygiene of all staff

Hygiene of all production and external areas
- Document quality assurance practices by entering data into logbooks, noting information in computer databases and recording all inventory and actions.
- Ensure that during all parts of the production schedule that the product meets all guidelines related to food safety.
- Communicate with management and other team members when problems arise and offer possible solutions to help correct any mistakes during manufacturing.
- Assess quality assurance strategies periodically to determine best practices and improvements that could lead to fewer problems and interruptions in the production schedule.
- Prepare for customer and external audits. Responsible for internal audits.
- Maintaining all relevant records relating to the BRC standards
- Ensure all CCP’s relating to the HACCP are maintained and monitored at all times
- Make sure certificate of analysis /certificate of conformance are managed accordingly
- Monitoring and evaluating incoming raw materials, production and processing procedures. Manage raw materials intake system
- Responsible for checking and releasing products
- Monitor & Maintain the Hygiene of the factory area and all staff to ensure that they are at the highest standards
- Complete all company paperwork with accuracy and on time
- Liaise with Technical/Quality Manager regarding supplier and customer complaints & assist in any investigation and corrective action when necessary.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Follow all GMP and Safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Train production staff to follow and understand food safety procedures and guidelines.

Essential Capabilities
- Promote good team work by proactively building good working relationships with others
- experience of HACCP systems
- Internal audit experience
- Exposure to quality systems documentation
- Worked in a BRC environment
- Excellent Word and Excel skills.
- Excellent Communication skills
- Proven track record of team working.
- Excellent time management and self-organization.
- Attention to detail. Able to work with people from a diverse range of backgrounds
- Ability to manage a stressful environment.
- Experience of delivering expanding operational KPI’s
