Van Drivers

At Pavers, we have 2 opportunities for Van Drivers to join our Warehouse Distribution Team at our Head Office & Distribution Centre in York, Upper Poppleton, on a full time basis. The positions are offered as a 40 hour per week contract, working Monday toFriday on shifts between 6.30am and 3.30pm, occasional flexibility might be required.

You’ll join a team of drivers who work on rotation and when not driving, you’ll help out in the Warehouse with duties as required. You’ll be a key player in the distribution side of the business to ensure stock arrive safely and timely in our stores throughoutthe UK

**Role Responsibilities for Van Drivers include**:

- Deliver and bring back stock designated for other shops
- Maintain vehicle health checks, i.e. oil levels, tyre depths etc
- Provide cover for van routes
- Comply with road traffic laws
- Process returns (COPS)
- Distribute pre-packed cartons into designated shop packing areas.
- Re-box small cartons into default cartons ready for despatch.
- Count number of cartons for despatch
- Load outgoing shipments onto transport
- Keep Warehouse and surrounding areas clean and tidy
- General Warehouse duties
- Comply with the Company Health & safety policy
- Any other duties required by the Company

**Requirements to be one of our Van Drivers**:

- Previous experience in Delivery Driving preferred
- Conscientious driver 21+ (for insurance reasons)
- Ideally a clean Driver’s License
- Good communicator with a positive can do attitude
- Good level of physical fitness
- Ability to use initiative
- Team player
- Good level of literacy and numeracy
- Good timekeeping skills

Rate of Pay: £9.90 per hour with opportunity to increase to £10.15 per hour following completion of our Next Steps programme.
