We are seeking a talented individual to work for a leading independent manufacturer of specialist products. The company can offer bespoke chilled or frozen products which are supplied to the manufacturing, service and retail sectors.

**About the Specifications Technologist job**:
You will be a crucial part of the food technical team, where you will ensure food safety, quality and legislative compliance whilst striving to improve and refine systems.

You will create external customer specifications in own and 3rd party format and maintain internal specifications and associated documents to ensure the correct planning and production of products to the required standards.

**Key tasks**:

- Support the company and department during day-to-day operations, customer visits and accreditation audits.
- Creation of initial and full customer specifications.
- Creation of artwork for labelling to legislative, company and customer standards.
- Lead the scale-up process from development through to factory trial to first production run.
- Maintain internal specifications and associated documents.
- Maintain the supplier approval systems, specifications, and related risk assessments.
- Represent the company effectively on all technical queries from customers and auditing bodies.

**About You**:

- Experience working in a technical role in the food manufacturing industry.
- Experience writing finished product specifications is highly desirable.
- Can demonstrate a sound knowledge of food safety and associated systems.
- I.T literate.

The Specifications Technologist job is based in Bedfordshire and is paying £25,000 - £30,000 according to your experience.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 7 am - 4 pm, there is some flexibility available.
