As the first point of contact for our retailers, drive the vitality and vibrancy of the Centre by proactively managing business relationships to understand our retailer's needs and support them in delivering sales growth. The Retail Manager supports thedevelopment and management of mall commercialisation and marketing activities, and collates and analyses sales data with the aim of exploiting growth areas and minimising risks.
- Identify opportunities to drive revenue and profit, in particular, develop road map documents for agreed priority retailers delivering high value income growth for Landsec.
- Use retail knowledge and experience to improve retail trading performance.
- Share best practice amongst retailers and maintain high retail standards.
- Collate and analyse weekly occupier sales data, communicating areas of growth and risk to all stakeholders.
- Provide two-way feedback to the wider business as part of a co-ordinated CRM framework.
- Collate, analyse and review all available data to help understand the operation/s.
- Maximise the usage of all data including CACI, footfall, Path Intelligence, dwell time, average spend, catchments, customer profile.
- Have a strong understanding of centre competition and performance.
- Undertake regular occupier visits in order to maintain positive working relationships, gain constructive feedback and understanding and to provide support and assistance.
- Communicate with retailers on a regular basis on operational issues including formal meetings, establishing effective working relationships.
- Ensure retailer compliance with regulations and lease covenants, as well as other compliance issues.
- Coordinate and respond to retailer enquires including operational issues, shop refreshes and performance issues.
- Work collaboratively with the centre team to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service.
- Take the lead in inducting new occupiers and new store managers, advising on health and safety issues and building awareness of the centre and Landsec brand.
- Act as a mediator between external agencies such as trading standards and our occupiers to ensure that any issues are resolved.
- Maintain an up-to-date list of store managers, area managers and head office contacts and develop strong links with these groups.
- Work, in conjunction with the Centre Management team, to develop and distribute occupier information to develop local offers and initiatives.
- Be aware of retailer events and their impact on the centre and ensure that these are well managed with communication and face-to face contact with the centre team.
- Engage occupiers to participate in any sales growth opportunities such as events, promotions and marketing activities in line with the centre’s marketing campaign.
- Develop and undertake training programmes for the occupiers of the centre, ensuring that these are relevant and focused on need.
- Facilitate occupier meetings and forums, assisting with their planning and delivery, arranging guest speakers and promoting store manager attendance.
- Develop awareness and participation in the centre’s website and promote the centre’s and occupiers’ offers in order to drive sales.
- Liaise with the mall operators, to ensure the highest standards of presentation and service and to ensure that the operations comply with the mall space strategy.
- Support the mall retailing team in the delivering of their strategy for the centre.
