JOB TITLE Visits/Mess Assistant

**JOB SUMMARY **Food is sold in accordance with the component standards and client needs. A job that revolves around the happiness and well being of Visitors HMP Five Wells.

**RESPONSIBLE TO** Kitchen Manager

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
Operational
- 35 hrs per week, some weekend or evening work may be required
- Deliver and control the sale of food to visits and staff mess
- Carry out any reasonable instruction of the management.
- Ensure items for sale, is available for service times and are accounted for correctly.
- Replenish where necessary.
- Maintain the cleaning of work surfaces, storage areas, utensils and equipment.
- Maintain component hygiene standards, within your work areas.
- Follow company or component policy in dealing with customer comments or complaints
- Comply with Health & Safety Regulations, Fire policy and report hazards to management
- Weekend shifts are necessary
- Job Retention scheme - one weeks salary paid extra after initial 3 month probation and minimum 6 months employment.

**PERSONAL**

Ensure that clothing including footwear and headgear, and personal hygiene is of the highest standards at all times.

**GENERAL**

Participate in company training to improve your standards of performance.

Suggest areas of improvement and take any corrective action as required.

Perform any other duties that may reasonably be required.

Full-time hours: 35 per week

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: £10.00-£13.00 per hour
