It's been an exciting time at Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust as we continue our journey of "Being our Best", and our mission to provide world-class patient care. We are now looking to recruit into the post of Head of Inclusion and Engagement to work within our Workforce and Organisational Development Directorate and support delivery of our organisational People and Culture objectives. The Head of Inclusion and Engagement will lead, develop and implement the Equality, Diversity, Engagement and Inclusion agenda for the Trust, strategically advising the executive team, ensuring that all aspects of our services including our workforce practises have a continued focus on equality, diversity and inclusion, with emphasis on ensuring our workforce reflects the communities and patients we serve. They will also be responsible for leading, developing and implementing the staff engagement agenda for the Trust, with the support of the OD Manager for wellbeing and engagement. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. It is imperative that our equality, diversity and inclusion management and governance frameworks are fit for purpose and that they effectively support the Trust to meet its equality objectives, legal obligations and annual reporting requirements. The Head of Inclusion and Engagement will drive this agenda and provide a lead role in developing the organisation’s capacity to understand and meet the needs of its diverse communities and workforce; they will also lead the development and implementation of initiatives that foster staff engagement attraction, retention and those that generate a culture of dignity and respect. We are seeking an individual who will develop key alliances and positively engage with external agencies and communities to enhance the reputation of the service and ensure that the community is involved and engaged in improving the experience of diverse groups who access our service and where we are a beacon of good practice.
