**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**

**Business area introduction**

Leveraged Finance supports the financial needs of private equity sponsors and leveraged corporates across Europe through lending / underwriting of debt facilities for this client base

**Key activities**

Marketing, origination and execution of Leveraged Finance Mandates across Europe, consisting of:

- Leading transactions, from idea generation to pitch preparation and presentation to clients, working closely with the Coverage and Syndicate teams
- Structuring transactions with financial instruments including Term Loans, Bonds, Bridge facilities and RCFs across multiple sectors and complex structures covering both Sponsor and Leveraged Corporate clients
- Managing internal approval processes, including leading the deal team to conduct due diligence review, prepare financial modelling scenarios and draft comprehensive credit approval memos whilst in close collaboration with Risk, as well as transaction presentation in committee meetings and addressing main concerns in order to help guide the decision process
- Negotiating commercial and legal transaction terms, liaising with Legal and external bank counsels
- Leading the syndication workstreams of transactions including marketing materials preparation for investors, working clients and with financed companies’ management teams to best present the transactions and achieve successful execution and pricing
- Train and guide junior bankers, and contribute to the recruitment process for the team

**What we’re looking for**
- CISI Regulations & Securities
- Experience in the Lev Fin market within an established institution, and credentials that include managing the origination and execution of Lev Fin Mandates
- Existing industry relationships with sponsors and market participants
- Strong knowledge of legal documentation and best practise and evidence of successful executed deal leadership
- Committed to meeting deadlines and expect to be available for unsociable hours when executing transactions
- Knowledge of how a credit process within a large bank environment works and to have sufficient experience and knowledge of the loan market and its practices to be able to challenge decisions that are not commercially reasonable or challenge the good ethics of Santander
- Excellent presentational skills and interpretation of accuracy of information flow
- Ability to be innovative with information data sources such as Debtwire, Mergermarket, LCD News, Dealogic and Bloomberg

**What else you need to know**

This role is based in our Triton Square office in London, conveniently located within walking distance from Euston Station and Warren Street Station.

Given the recent impact of the Coronavirus outbreak we will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.
