**Job Description**:
The Research & Library Assistant is a new role which will provide administrative and functional support across the AECOM Library and Information Services (ALIS) team.
If you are enthusiastic, proactive, and motivated we are looking for you to join our established team, playing an active part in developing ALIS globally within AECOM.
**Main responsibilities include**:
- Research support - using information resources to help conduct research for library users, ensuring that research is done to a high standard and meets the needs of the requester
- Enquiry support - dealing with routine requests in a timely manner
- Assisting with administrative functions of the team such as new starters, maintaining mailing lists, distributing alerts and updates, and general record keeping
- Contribute to the maintenance of the ALIS print collections, including cataloguing and weeding
- Help developing a global corporate membership resource
- Supporting an industry events tracker, to highlight events and learning opportunities arising from memberships and industry partners
- Undertake other duties in support of the work of ALIS as may be required
**Qualifications**:
- A desire to establish a career in information and library environment
- Interest in research and information seeking
- Capable of working with mínimal supervision on routine tasks
- A team player, able to manage your own time and prioritise tasks according to requirements of users, colleagues, and the operational needs the team
- Consistency, attention to detail and the ability to work to established protocols
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Enthusiasm, motivation to learn and able to exercise appropriate initiative
**Person specification**:
- Active user of libraries
- Some previous experience of undertaking research would be particularly beneficial
