Payroll Officer Temp-perm

A keen eye for detail and a strong organisational skill would be essential for this role. You will be joining a small and very friendly HR team to provide payroll administration and support for over 300 people.
The role will be based at the company's modern Head Office on the outskirts of Cardiff. Salary will be dependent on experience, but will likely be circa £25,000 (starting on a temporary hourly rate basis) plus excellent benefits, and the opportunity forgea rewarding career in HR within a highly professional team and company
Key Duties:
- Maintain the HR and payroll database including input of starters, leavers and employee and organisational changes.
- Manage the administration of monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and efficiency at all times.
- Maintain electronic and paper records, and review regularly to ensure that they are accurate, up to date and in line with data protection requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact for the reporting of absence, providing accurate advice.
- Ensure that paid and unpaid leave is recorded correctly on the HR / Payroll system.
- Maintain sickness absence records to ensure payroll system is up to date.
- Act as a point of contact for pension or payroll queries for all employees.
- Ensure that the company benefits package is administered and managed accurately.
- Undertake research activities for HR projects.
Skills & Experience:
- Payroll experience would be highly desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
- Experience working in finance / accountancy would also be a beneficial experience.
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to work closely with all levels.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Highly organised approach with ability to multi-task.
- Effective time management skills and able to work to deadlines.
- Research skills & a keen interest in the HR profession.
- High level of computer literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and use of HR databases
- Some experience of recruitment administration would be desirable.
