Nursery Practitioner Baby Room Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION.
SUPERVISOR Baby Room Staff must hold the relevant qualifications and be able to undergo the following tasks:
CHILDREN **To provide a happy, safe and secure environment where the children are given the opportunity to grow and develop at their own pace. ** To ensure that you and your team provide the children with a wide and varied range of activities relating to the appropriate curriculum. **To keep and update developmental records of children and use your experience and knowledge to asses and review these. ** To serve meals and snacks. **To nurture children whilst assisting with their personal care. ** Ensuring that the daily register is completed and taken out of the building in case of an emergency evacuation **Confidentiality is paramount; this must be enforced at all times. ** Ensure that the requirements of children with barriers to learning and /or disabilities are fully supported via appropriate programmes e.g. GIRFEC, SHANARRI. STAFF **To support and advise staff as well as Participating in staff meetings. ** To conduct floor meetings to allow staff training, opportunities for ideas or concerns. **Liaise with Manager to update any general developments. ** Check term reports before given to parents and carry out monthly supervisions on their team. **To report and record all incidents/accidents and Risk Assess within the nursery environment. ** To work in partnership with fellow colleagues to create an effective team and to be fully involved in all activities. **To lead staff meetings, promote and support teamwork using prioritised agendas, which are set prior to meeting. ** To ensure the Health and Safety and wellbeing of all children within your care and clean prepare and maintain equipment.
PARENTS **To build trusting relationships so that parents feel comfortable discussing any issues that may arise. ** To keep parents informed of child’s development and progress. **To take part in parent’s nights or parent consultation. ** Respect parent’s views although they may be different from your own. **Show prospective parents around the nursery Inductions.**
EQUIPMENT **Responsible for keeping equipment clean and reporting any faults and breakages. ** Notifying the Manager of any materials required generally
ADDED RESPONSIBILITIES **To know and comply with the health and Social Care Standards, be familiar with and meet the Standards set by the SSSC, ensuring their registration is renewed. To be familiar with the Care Inspectorate. ** To implement curriculum toolkits and self-evaluation HGIOELC. **Responsible for updating relevant documentation for curriculum. ** To contribute to nursery Improvement plan and participate in staff meetings. **To attend Parents evenings, participate and support team where required. ** Support other rooms; this includes different age groups and any other duties required by management.
Pay: Up to £13.00 per hour
