Specialist Practitioner

The Specialist Practitioner in the Team will focus on delivering specialist mental health support within a marginalised client group who are either homeless, or at risk of homelessness.
The role will involve organizing mental health drop-in sessions, street outreach, signposting, and specific support to the homeless community of Hull. The role will include working with high levels of risk and people with enduring trauma.
Demonstrate a keen interest and general understanding of working in homelessness and the unique challenges that this presents.
Incorporate a pre-treatment approach for clinical interventions and project leadership, including clinical triages and assessments.
Support the individual who has experienced homelessness to establish a level of stability to engage in trauma-informed-care.
Incorporate a proactive approach in a variety of settings, such as hostels, breakfast clubs and on the streets to improve outcomes for people.
Support in the development of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) across the city of Hull and support local networks to develop the necessary skills to work within this framework.
Liaise with partner agencies and help them to understand how best to support traumatised people.
Contribute to complex case reviews/meetings/MDT’s which may involve other agencies or specified organisational/professional forums
