We are currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join our client Health Education England (HEE).
**Role**:Buyer - Health Education England
**Salary**: £10.29ph and then rising to £11.53ph after 12 weeks
**Hours**:Full time, 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
**Location**:Hybrid working, and the office is Blenheim House, Duncombe Street, Leeds
You would Give advice to internal colleagues, guiding them towards appropriate contract arrangements and offer solutions to staff and suppliers regarding ordering/delivery problems. Referring to appropriate Senior Buyer for advice.
**Role Overview**:
- Be responsible for the expediting of outstanding purchase orders, checking against contracts as required.
- Responsible for raising purchase orders in line with procurement procedures
- Run low value (sub £50k) quotations where appropriate
- Provide a customer focused service that is polite, giving accurate and timely information to the user
- Work with the invoice query team to resolve any issues with order / delivery / payment
- Responsible for checking requisitions against any benchmarking intelligence and challenging suppliers to ensure best price
**What we are looking for**:
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to adapt communication to take account of the intended audience, especially when providing updates on purchase order progress.
- Able to provide and receive complex, sensitive, or contentious purchasing information where there may be barriers to communication or a requirement to achieve agreement, cooperation or provide reassurance.
- Able to analyse large amounts of financial and purchasing data to evaluate competitive offers and ensure value for money.
- Good levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to use own initiative
- Be able to work independently and remotely
- Experience of Oracle P2P systems (Desirable)
- Experience of working in a team
