Cad Technician

The HireWorks are delighted to be working with a Global Engineering company to assist with the recruitment of a CAD Technician.

**Overview**:
Under the supervision of the Project Manager/Engineer, the CAD Technician performs a variety of design/drafting activities group including preparing/updating installation drawings for projects, preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings, utilising and improvingon procedures for CAD data management.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To produce P&IDs from customer specifications and engineering drawings.
- To develop systems from specified components and P&ID.
- To model some of the individual components if they are not readily available.
- To be the expert in the using of 3D CAD software (ideally SolidWorks).
- To revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes.
- To put assemblies together in 3D to ensure manufacturability and ease of maintenance.
- To maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (like drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters, and /performance guarantees) for future reference.
- Maintain filing guidelines for drawings to maintain up-to-date drawings according to CFS standards and procedures.
- CAD and drawing database maintenance/administration, PDM, etc.
- Experience of working in a similar manufacturing environment
- 2D Drawing experience.
- Engineering experience essential
- High attention to detail
- Experience with Solidworks and Creo (Desirable).
- Good team player; able to communicate well others
- Organised and able to prioritise workload to ensure products can be dispatched
