We are working in partnership with a well established client based in Blackwood who are currently recruiting for a Support Worker for their new service in Blackwood.
This is an exciting time to join the team, as you will be part of a wonderful new service providing support to 10 service users with a range of care needs within a Supported living service. You will provide support to those with with a learning disability,ASD and other complex needs.
This is a full time position working 38.5 hours a week, 11 hour shifts. The shift patterns alternate between 3 shifts a week and 4 shifts a week.
You will be working as part of a team in a constructive and supportive manner, attend regular staff meetings and supervision meetings as necessary.
You will support the personalised development of each service user, recognising talent, sensitivities and beliefs. Initiating and supporting the individuals to be involved in educational, occupational, recreational activities when appropriate.
Within the role of a Support Worker you would write and keep updated individual service users care plans and be actively involved in the review process, and ensuring that they maintain good contact with family and friends.
You will undertake courses and pursue own professional development and training, as the company proactively encourages staff to improve their skills as appropriate.
You will receive robust training and induction and receive full support along your journey
