**Normal location**
Unit 10B, Hadham Industrial Estate, Church End, Little Hadham, Bishop's Stortford, Ware SG11 2DY.
**Purpose of Job / Main Objectives**
- To manage service and maintenance functions with the Branch.
- To strengthen and build upon the existing Service and Maintenance portfolio.
Responsible to
- Branch Manager
Relationships
- Working with all members of the centre engineering team.
- Direct liaison with existing customers, potential new customers, suppliers and other business partners.
- Working with our other Branch Managers, service managers/administrators, our accounts department and other members of P&R staff.
Physical ConditionsPrimarily an office-based role in the Bishop’s Stortford branch. A large amount of the work will be desk based with a desktop computer.
- Occasionally visiting customer sites to promote service and maintenance activities.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and results orientated.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent sales and negotiating skills.
- Capable of working on own initiative and managing own workload effectively.
- Proven track record of strong client relationships.
- Friendly, with the ability to build a rapport quickly.
- Comfortable working in a target driven environment.
- Efficient and effective use of computer systems (Mac and PC) such as Word and Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Full clean UK Driving Licence.
Role responsibilities
- Working with the Branch Manager organising our engineering staff to ensure work is carried out in an effective and efficient manner.
- Working with the Branch Manager and projects team in the planning and scheduling of service, maintenance and installation work.
- Receiving incoming telephone calls from customers placing service calls and progressing work.
- Raising job cards and associated documentation via our IT systems to support the day-to-day service and maintenance operations of the branch.
- Procurement of equipment, services and sub-contractors to support projects and day to day service and maintenance operations. This will include placing orders with suppliers, progressing outstanding orders, overseeing delivery and checking in goods and equipment.
- Processing of internal paperwork to allow the smooth operation of the service centre, this includes: job cards, work reports, engineers’ timesheets, maintenance sheets, purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Preparation of equipment and associated paperwork where items need to be returned to suppliers.
- Contacting customers by telephone to arrange service and maintenance visits, obtaining order numbers and the renewal of maintenance contracts.
- Identifying areas where business can be developed with existing customers and new opportunities for P&R in our marketplace, including visiting existing and potential customers to promote our service and maintenance activities.
- Identifying and pursuing real possibilities for additional key accounts for service and maintenance.
- Production and follow up of customer quotations to support service and maintenance activities.
- Assist with technical support both via telephone and by direct site-based input, to less experienced engineering staff.
- Assist with the training and technical development of our engineering team.
- Provide operational feedback to the Branch Manager.
- Ensure that all sales opportunities are fully captured and explored.
- Providing a timely response and exceptional levels of service to all remedial works and sales enquiries.
- Working with other members of staff to promote Pitkin & Ruddock’s organisational values and objectives.
- Actively seek competitive prices for regularly purchased items.
- Management of all vehicles.
- Administrative duties including, but not limited to; timesheets, petty cash, uniform ordering and control, stationery ordering and control, stock control, accommodation booking, holiday diary, scheduling meetings and all workshop testing administration.
- Ensure excellent organisation and maximum productivity of engineers by avoiding return journeys to the office throughout and at the end of the day
**Safety Aspects**
- Ensure compliance with the Company Health & Safety Policy and be involved in the creation and implementation of specific site safety files, risk assessments and method statements for complex jobs and contracts.
- Actively encourage safe working environments and best practice in our operations to minimise incidents and accidents.
- Provide feedback and experience to assist with the company’s evaluation and implementation of working practices to ensure our health, safety and environmental systems are effective and current.
