Audit | Automotive Electronics | ISO9001 | OEM | Quality Engineering | Languages **Role**:Quality Engineer **Location: Dartford** **Salary**:Flexible **Role Summary**: - This position requires the applicant to support our client’s positive approach to managing and enhancing its products, services, and processes. - The base for this position will be at the new state of the art facility in Dartford and may require occasional travel to support manufacturing partners. **Responsibilities**: - Identification and resolution of issues and continuous improvement activities with respect to product quality (including their associated services) and business management systems. - Implementation and continual support for conformance to industry standards, best practices and business management systems throughout the global organisation and supply network. - Management of first, second - and third-party audits throughout the global organisation, supply network, certification, and government bodies. - Contribution of quality assurance functions to product design, testing, verification, planning and reporting to industry standard best practices. - Management of inspection activities at source and at goods inwards facilities throughout the global organisation (occasional cover required as business continuity dictates). - Communication of internal and external metrics to ensure that business processes, supplier performance and customer requirements are within operational parameters. Performance Indicators - Timely closure of and reduction in issues through prioritisation and completion of reactive non-conformance reports and pro-active continuous improvement activities. - Timely completion of first - and second-party audits, management reporting of, follow up and robust closure of identified nonconformities, observations, and opportunities for improvement. **Requirements**: Qualifications and Training - An internal or lead auditor qualification with a recognised industry body such as the - British Standards Institute (BSI). - Can demonstrate a clear ability and proven record of being able to identify support networks (books, online learning, networking, etc), to acquire and develop skills as required. - A six-sigma green belt (or higher) qualification either with a recognised learning provider such as the British Standards Institute (BSI) or internal to major automotive prime. In either instance backed by on the job case studies. - Formal vocational qualification to National Diploma level (or similar) in a technical, scientific, or engineering discipline. Experience and Skills - Time-served with at least three years’ relevant industry experience within a customer and supplier facing role. - At least three years’ experience working in an industry aligned/allied with the automotive industry or a disciplined industry (such as aerospace, defence, medical, optical, etc). - Practical experience with the maintenance, management and/or contribution to business management systems (such as ISO9001:2015). - Demonstratable interpersonal and communication skills. Personality and Motivation - Can demonstrate a strong history of ownership for continual professional development and career planning. - Can demonstrate taking ownership and responsibility of high profile and complex situations. - A strong personal interest in a technical, engineering or science-based discipline, that is supportive of the organisations core activities. **Desirable**: - Actively engages with a relevant industry institute, such as the "Institute of Engineering & Technology" (IET) or the "Chartered Quality Institute" (CQI). - Is expected to hold or be working towards the equivalent of a degree in an engineering discipline. - At least three years’ experience working within the automotive supply chain (Prime, - Tier 1 or OEM). - Implementation and/or auditing to the requirements of ISO9001, IATF16949, AS9100, ISO45001 (previously 18001), ISO14001, ISO50001, ISO27001 and/or ISO22301. - Exposure to working with Far Eastern supply networks. - The ability to speak a second (or more) languages. Basic level (or greater), preferably gained through travelling and/or exposure to cultures.
