**Support Worker (Project Worker)

**Permanent**35 hours per week plus sleep over on average 1 night per week**£10.45 per hour**
Castlehill is a supported temporary Accommodation service, based in Dungannon, with 22 self-catering apartments, including 6 apartments that are suitable for couples. The service also offers a range of communal areas that residents can access. The service offers 24/7 support, for homeless people aged 18 and over. The professionally trained team work to low threshold and harm reduction principles, meaning they support people in a flexible way that they can manage and offering them every assistance to plan and make more positive choices for their future.

You'll be a member of a highly professional team providing needs led practical support and advice to those using our services:

- To be a member of staff providing accommodation and support for families who have become homeless.
- To assess the needs of service users and to jointly agree a robust support plan to meet the service users identified goals.
- To provide key working sessions to a number of residents, focusing on their identified needs, and advocating on their behalf.
- To liaise with stakeholders, external agencies and other voluntary organisations that may be supportive to service user needs
- To be a contributing team player, taking part in handovers, team meetings, core training, the mentoring of Volunteers and supporting other team members in ensuring all decision making is appropriate and consistent
- To regularly update your line manager on service user progress or regress and participate in regular supervision, annual appraisals and identifying your own professional development needs to further develop your role.
- To ensure all Depaul Policies and Procedures are adhered too particularly Child Protection; Health and Safety; Code of Conduct and Confidentiality.
- To at all times undertake your role in a professional manner maintaining a high quality standard of work in line with Depaul Values and ethos.

**We're looking for someone who**:

- Has 3 GCSE’s A-C to include Maths and English or equivalent
- 1 years paid experience or 2 years volunteering experience working with vulnerable adults with complex needs.
- Good working knowledge of risk assessment and risk management processes (i.e. S/U Risk assessment, Lone Working, Activity Risk Assessments)
- Working knowledge of using IT systems to record case notes
- Understand the importance for Health and Safety in a residential setting.
- A good understanding of issues presented through alcohol /drug use
