It requires us to build a business wide Specsavers Digital capability that is uniquely enabled by the practices, processes, technologies, and culture of the internet era.
**The Role**
As a product owner at Specsavers, you’ll sit at the crossroads between business, technology and customer experience to drive the eCommerce side of the business. We’ll look to you to support the Business to clarify and prioritise customer needs using research, data, UX and design; talk with and listen to our Store Partners, customers and colleagues in the field, and develop an in-depth knowledge of retail, Optics and Audiology, eCommerce, or another of our business areas. In addition:
- Help to shape and define the product backlog, gather customer or colleague requirements, map process and capture functional designs
- Work closely with our development partner to deliver a new global ecommerce platform
- You will have strong stakeholder management skills and be able to liaise with the Tech and Marketing teams globally.
- You will need to understand the wider ecosystem of Specsavers and how the digital services work and where we can improve the experience for our customers and colleagues
**What you’ll offer**:
- To be successful as our product owner with extensive eCommerce experience. You’ll need natural curiosity, great people skills, and a proven track record delivering digital products and services as part of an agile, multi-disciplinary team.
- You enjoy working closely with business leaders to help define what they need to achieve desired results; and help the business owner find language to translate their vision and targets into strategy and activity.
- You have an ability to tell compelling stories that’ll inspire and energise a diverse team of designers, developers and researchers.
- You are evangelical about the craft of product management and how to build products, knowing where to adapt your approach to suit the needs of the current demand.
- You have strong understanding of Product Ownership processes, tools and ways of working including stakeholder engagement strategies.
- You are comfortable sitting at the centre of a cross functional team and are adept at Agile leadership, knowing when and how to work with Technology, Marketing, Product teams, 3rd Party agencies and others.
- You thrive in a rapidly changing world and can operate effectively, and both understand and respond, to people’s rapidly changing needs, habits and expectations, ensuring that focus is maintained on the items that will deliver most value.
- You have a strong Digital background and have a working knowledge of the practices, processes, technologies and culture of the internet era.
- You’ll have proven you can design and deliver experiences based on a strong foundation of data and analytics, led by an obsession to solve problems customers have, or strategies to achieve Business results, developing initiatives, turning these into services and products that deliver value.
**The Experience**
It will be essential that you will have the following experience:
- you have extensive experience of agile development/delivery and leading multi-disciplinary product teams
- you have a track record of building successful digital products that create a brilliant customer experience and deliver value
- you have a background of working within a Digital environment and experience of e-Commerce, Digital Marketing, Digital Analytics, Digital UX/Design or Omnichannel Retail
- you’ve an entrepreneurial mind-set
