**Female* Support Worker Required - Epsom, Surrey.**
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a support worker to join a team of carers to assist a fun loving, exuberant 27-year-old with cerebral palsy in the Epsom area.
Our client enjoys going to a day centre 3 days a week, but when at home has a team of carers to support him in all the things he enjoys. His favourite activities are going to the beach, pub quizzes, cinema, people watching as well as loving being with his family and friends. He loves having people come to visit and family parties.
It would be preferable if you did have some experience in a caring role, but we would love to hear from you if you want to support someone to lead as fulfilling life as possible by giving choices and opportunities. We would expect you to offer personal support respectfully, caring as you would want to be cared for yourself.
Our client requires support for all aspects of daily living, and this includes manual handling tasks and administering feeds and medication via a mickey button.
Most of the time you will be working alone with the client but his family will be around in the evenings and overnight.
This role is for day shifts, weekdays and weekends and overnight sleep ins. There will need to be flexibility in your working hours to support the client and his family’s needs. Ensuring that you arrive on time for shifts is especially important to the client and his family.
You will need a full driving licence, an energetic personality, and the ability to provide a high standard of therapeutic support with an enthusiastic, caring and professional approach.
**Hours: 20 hours per week. This will include shifts on weekdays, weekends and sleep ins.**
**Rates of Pay**:
**Monday to Friday - £13.44 per hour**
**Weekends - £15.05 per hour**
**Sleep ins - £11.44 per hour**
Proof will be required of a right to work in the UK.
**Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for a female worker to work with this young person.
