Yard Shunter

**Working Hours**:48 hours per week, day shift, Monday - Saturday

**The Yard Shunter role**:
As our Yard Shunter, you will have a pivotal role within the Haulage department, responsible for ensuring that the trailers are in the right place at the right time and that the goods within the vehicles are properly secured and prepared for safe transportation

**Responsibilities as our Yard Shunter**:

- Safely operating yard-shunter vehicle/s;
- Safely coupling/uncoupling of vehicles;
- Safely loading/unloading vehicles;
- Planning and organisation of lorries for loading/unloading;
- Monitoring and reporting damage to Company vehicles;
- Regularly checking vehicle tyres to identify damage and ensure legality;
- Checking fridges are running and electric cables are in good condition;
- Ensuring vehicle wash and re-fuelling areas are kept clean and report infringements;
- Collecting/Returning vehicles for servicing;
- Receiving and then giving clear communication on a two-way wireless radio system.

**Skills and attributes, we’re looking for in our Yard Shunter**:
**Essential**:

- Class 1 driving license;
- A FLT license would be advantageous.

Please Note: This is an active role, and therefore a reasonable level of fitness is required
