Job description

CATERING RESPONSIBILITIES

Part time - 3-4 days per week
- Providing three well balanced and nutritious meals - Lunch and Tea. Consideration must be given to high fibre, low fat and vegetarian food. You will be required to understand and provide special diets such as diabetic, fortified, Soft or ethnic food.

Planning and displaying a rotating set of menus comprising:

- **Lunch**:

- Main 1, Main 2, Snack, Special - Sweet 1,2,.

**Tea**:

- Hot or Cold - Sweet 1,2 Cakes, biscuits etc.
- Supervising the kitchen assistant.

.Ordering/purchasing fresh, frozen and dairy products.
- Budgeting and cost controlling whilst ensuring that the standards are maintained.
- Control the levels and usage of stock.
- Serving the meals to the residents in the dining room.
- Ensure residents receive meals that they have chosen from the choices available displayed on the heated counter.
- Keep the kitchen, food preparation and service areas including the food stores clean. Washing up after meals will be chefs responsibility along with the kitchen assistant.
- Cleaning the whole kitchen and surrounding areas with the kitchen assistant and according to the cleaning schedule.
- Ensure that fridges and freezer temperatures are recorded and that the records are available for inspection by Environmental Health or Social Services.
- Be prepared at any time to deal with officers from Environmental Health or Social Services should they make one of their unannounced visits.
- Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and report any faults or malfunctions to the Management.
- Devising and organizing theme meals, Parties, and being involved in fundraising events.
