**The Role**:
To lead and coordinate day-to-day purchasing activity within the Buying Team, ensuring that goods and services are purchased efficiently, compliantly, and in line with University frameworks and financial procedures.

Provide line management of Buyer(s) and Junior Buyer(s), offering oversight, coaching, and support to ensure consistent service delivery and professional development.

Deliver more complex or high-risk purchasing activity as needed, and act as an escalation point for non-standard queries. Support the analysis of spend and supplier usage to identify opportunities for aggregation or forward referral into strategic procurement activity.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of purchasing systems, processes, and training.

We operate hybrid working and this role will be office based 3 days per week with 2 days working from home.
