**Job Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shop Assistant to join our team in a busy charity shop. You will work 15 hours per week over 2 days, Monday to Saturday.

**Job Purpose**

To assist in managing all aspects of running the shop. This will include:

- to deliver excellent customer service, meeting customer needs, promoting good practice and supporting authorised fundraising campaigns.
- to open and close the shop, manage cashing-up and banking as required, and ensure stock is maintained at optimum levels.
- to oversee the processing, pricing, sale and promotion of goods, including till operation and Gift Aid on donated items.
- to receive, handle and process donations, minimising waste and returning goods for reuse or recycling.

**Qualifications**, **skills and experience**

**Essential**:

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Adequate numeric skills
- Good people skills
- Customer care skills
- Able to cope with heavy lifting and prolonged standing

**Preferred**:

- Previous retail experience
- Experience of display and merchandising
- Experience of working with volunteers
- Computer skills (basic)
- Proven organisational and prioritising skills

You must also be sympathetic towards the mission, vision and values of Blythswood.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
