Are you a person with an interest in the medical field and who enjoys having people interaction?
My healthcare based client now has an opening for an Ophthalmic Technician to undertake eye tests and also to assist in minor operations (passing of equipment to the Optician)
You must be a car driver with your own transport and will be working Monday to Friday 8.30- 5pm with occasional Saturdays (paid over time) please note a DBS check will be essential.
Full training will be given and the role is a non clinical one - you will NOT be performing any surgery but purely using machinery and performing eye tests.
The role will entail travelling to various health centres and hospitals within the Bucks, Middlesex and Hertfordshire regions
- travel costs will be reimbursed.
Duties
- Full training will be given to use specialist eye testing machinery
- this will include imaging and visual field testing
- Meeting And greeting patients and always ensuring high levels of hygiene compliance
- Observing and reporting on changes in patient vision
- Maintaining patient confidentiality
- Providing patient literature
- Writing and maintaining patient records
- Assisting with minor operations
- all non -clinical
Skills required
- Ideally educated to NVQ level 2 healthcare
- Own car and transport
- Strong PC skills
- Highly personable and possess strong communication skills
- High levels of confidentiality
- Sensitive
- someone who shows empathy
