Store Assistant

**Job Summary**
The Store Assistant is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in maintaining an efficient and well-organized store. This includes stock handling, inventory management, goods distribution, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The role requires physical work, attention to detail, and effective coordination with the procurement team and suppliers.

**Duties**
- Assist in receiving, inspecting, and storing electrical goods.
- Check deliveries for accuracy, damage, and quantity, reporting discrepancies to the Store Manager.
- Track and organize stock to maintain an orderly and efficient store layout.
- Conduct regular stock checks, mini daily stock takes, and full quarterly inventory counts.
- Ensure stock levels are accurately recorded in the company’s software.
- Assist with issuing store materials and updating stock movement records.
- Maintain accurate records of goods in and out.
- Record and process returns of materials.
- Keep track of plant and equipment movement, ensuring inspection records are updated.
- Deliver and collect materials from EWC sites and suppliers as required.
- Ensure proper documentation for incoming and outgoing goods.
- Assist in following up on back-ordered items and liaising with the procurement department.
- Distribute PPE and maintain the PPE register.
- Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed, including proper PPE issuance.
- Assist in waste management duties, ensuring compliance with environmental and legislative requirements.
- Keep the store and surrounding areas clean and organized.
- Assist in locking/unlocking the store and yard as needed.
- Support the Store Manager in supervising any additional staff working in the store.
- Assist the procurement department with administrative duties.
- Input and maintain job sheets, ensuring materials are correctly recorded for reporting.
- Maintain records for waste management and stock tracking.

**SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Previous experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or storekeeping role is preferred
- Experience with electrical goods or technical components is an advantage
- Familiarity with stock recording systems and procurement processes
- Certification or training in warehouse management, stock control, or logistics.
- Health & Safety certification
- **Valid driving license**:

- Understanding of electrical goods and components, including their handling, storage, and distribution.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and stock control procedures.
- Awareness of Health & Safety regulations, including PPE requirements and safe handling of electrical items.
- Basic knowledge of procurement and inventory management systems.
- Ability to use stock management software and maintain digital records.
- Working effectively with store managers, suppliers, and procurement teams.
- Identifying and resolving stock discrepancies and order issues.
- Must be available from **6:30 AM**as needed.
- Delivery of items if necessary
- Flexible to work additional hours based on store requirements.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
