Are you ready to start your career in rail engineering administration with one of the UK’s leading heritage rail organisations? Join us at London & North Western Railway Heritage Co Ltd as an Apprentice Technical Clerk and gain hands-on experience supporting our engineering team while working toward a nationally recognised qualification.

As an Apprentice Technical Clerk, you’ll work closely with the Locomotive Standards Engineer and Engineering Director to maintain engineering documentation and vehicle records. You’ll assist in preparing audit packs and learn how to format and manage technical documents to support certification processes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build your skills in business administration, engineering documentation, and ICT, all while contributing to the preservation and operation of historic rail vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and format engineering documentation in line with company procedures
- Assist in creating and updating vehicle records
- Support the collation of audit materials for certification

Training & Development
- On-the-job training in time management, documentation standards, and engineering principles
- Technical training tailored to your individual ability

What We’re Looking For
- GCSEs in Maths, English, and ICT
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Willingness to travel and work flexibly when required

Prior experience in engineering or rail is not essential—we’re looking for someone enthusiastic, reliable, and ready to learn.
