We have an exciting opportunity for a Breakdown Repairs Team Leader to join our Engineering Department based at London Gateway in Stanford le Hope. This role will see you lead a team of Breakdown Technicians to ensure reliability of our various heavy plant equipment across the port. Variety is the name of the game here where you will work across many different types of automated and heavy plant machiney/equipment. If you are a strong trouble shooter, problem solver and have strong mechanical or electrical engineering experience we would love to hear from you

This position will be a 12 hour shift based position working 7 shifts in 14 days with every other weekend off. The shift pattern includes 2 days - 2 off - 3 nights - 2 off - 2 days - 3 off.

**About the role**
- Oversee a team of Breakdown Engineers and carry out repair and maintenance activities following LG/DPW Safety standards, LG engineering procedures, safe industry practices and local HSE regulations/requirements.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and repair works a proficient manner with the objective to minimise downtime of equipment.
- Provide/collect data/information during the execution of preventive, emergency and corrective maintenance tasks on any asset to Engineering Planners
- Coordinate with Engineers planners in the absence of Team leader in order to proficiently execute the plan set up by planners
- Manage the team of technicians while ensuring maintenance tasks are carried out in a proficient and safe manner.
- Manage and supervise contractors during delivery and commissioning of the equipment while ensuring that they adhere to safe working practices
- Manage and supervise external contractors working on any asset while ensuring that safe working practices are always adhered to
- Provide support/input to improve/develop and update method statements and risk assessments for any preventive maintenance or repairs carried out on any asset
- Lead by example and encourage other to implement/improve safe working procedures and practices.
- Work closely with the stores and Asset Managers to maintain inventory and stock.
- Compile and distribute shift reports at the end of the shift.
- Assist with the development and progression of all engineering apprentices.

**Your Key Skills**:

- Knowledge of logistics with exposure to Sales/ Account Management and/or New Business Development
- NQF Level 3 in a suitable technical field
- Ability and desire to people manage, coach and lead a team, considering wellbeing, development and technical guidance
- A strong and demonstrate understanding of the importance of Health and Safety culture, practices, processes and policies
- Experience of proactive, solution focussed problem solving skills
- An ability to think bigger picture, as well as the technical details
- Excellent knowledge of equipment maintenance/engineering
- Experience and knowledge of HSE regulations related to equipment maintenance and activities
- Experience of EAMS (Enterprise Asset Management System) specifically modules related to Maintenance, Inventory and Procurement
- Excellent communication and personal skills
- Excellent team player
- No Live Sanctions
- Must be medically fit to fulfil the role, with no restrictions which prevent the role from being carried out in full
- A full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence allowing you to drive on UK roads.No unspent criminal convictions
