We are looking for dynamic and passionate ST3 Doctors to join our Emergency Department at Southend Hospital. You will be working as alongside our multi-disciplinary team to provide urgent and emergency diagnosis and care to all unselected Emergency presentations who arrive either by ambulance or as self-presentations. This involves working in all areas i.e. Resus, Majors, Minors, Paediatric and Rapid Assessment areas

Responsible in conjunction with the senior nurse for monitoring departmental performance and for maximizing performance; keeping waiting times within nationally agreed standards and delivering personally high quality medical care to National Standards.

This post is required to commence as soon as possible with around 100,000 people attending our Emergency department every year, we’re really setting the pace in care. Emergency Medicine has its own clinical director, under whom you will contribute a wealth of fresh ideas and drive innovative practice.

The rota gives an average of 4 hours per week CPD time protected off the shop floor and the department also pays the course fee for you to get all 3 life support courses
- adult, paediatric and trauma. You would be expected to take part in audit and QIP. We have a good record of doctors going on to achieve training posts.
