Waste Controller

In this role you will develop and execute a waste strategy with a strong emphasis on the operational management of waste and will be expected to work in a busy environment with specific targets to be met along with a physically demanding role dealing with all aspects of work required in waste control.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Safe and efficient day-to-day management of waste control centre within WHS
- Provide robust targets with financial gain in regards to waste management
- Drive improvements though the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve waste performance across all sites.
- Provide support and expertise advising on waste management and operational excellence.
- Undertake any assigned projects, ensuring that agreed outcomes are delivered on time, within budget and to the expected standard
- Implement waste plans to reduce waste generation
- Educate and guide key stakeholders on waste topics
- Drive change management and awareness on waste to engage all employees
- Follow the correct procedures with regards to NCP
- Maintaining high standards of the yard house-keeping.
- Maintain high levels of Health and Safety awareness and report any areas of concern to the manager immediately.
- Ensure all marked gangways are kept clear at all times.
- Ensure forklift trucks are checked daily, recorded on relevant sheets and issues are reported to supervisor.
- Put improvement suggestions forward where appropriate.

**Required education, skills, training or experience**:

- Should be physically fit.
- Excellent communication skills.
- FLT Counter Balance as a minimum
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Should be a team player and have ability to coordinate with fellow workers.
- Conscientious and flexible.
- Remains calm under pressure.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour
