**Public Health Officer**
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Wirral's Public Health team to work within its operational Delivery Team. As a Public Health Officer, you will support the delivery of local health improvement initiatives, analyse data to inform policy, and work with partners to protect and promote the wellbeing of the community.
**About the Role**:
We’re looking for a proactive, people-focused individual to work on a range of tasks and projects as part of the delivery of the Public Health operational plan. Working as part of a multiskilled Public Health team, you’ll help protect and improve the health of local residents, particularly the most disadvantaged, working with partners, and driving forward innovative public health initiatives. An element of the role will involve health protection work, including supporting local outbreak management, responding to infectious disease outbreaks and supporting prevention efforts. You will also be advising on health protection issues including environmental hazards and emergency planning. Co-ordination of meetings, managing communications and building relationships with communities and partners are all key tasks.
You will be able to work collaboratively with internal teams, community groups and external partners to deliver impactful health interventions and co-ordinated support for organisations, communities and businesses. You will be proactive in developing and maintaining effective partnerships and relationships. You will hold a qualification in health, environmental health, or science or have equivalent experience. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset. You should be confident working with data, digital systems, and performance monitoring tools and have a flexible, adaptable approach to be able to respond to requirements of the role.
