Support Services Assistant

We require a caring and enthusiastic individual to work full time as a Support Services Assistant within the Domestic Team.
This is a 30 hour post working over a 7 day period, working alternate weekends and Bank Holidays as they fall.
This post is Fixed Term for 6 months
This post will be based at Breconshire War Memorial Hospital, but there will be the expectation, when required, to clean in other sites within Powys..
You will need to be self-motivated, have a flexible approach to work, able to work as part of a team and have the ability to work on your own initiative’
Previous experience is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given.

**JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE**:
The Hotel Services Domestic Assistant is responsible to the Hotel Services Supervisor to undertake a range of housekeeping duties, which includes primarily the cleaning of elements within the wards and departments on sites as directed. To maintain a high standard of food hygiene in support of providing patient meals, snacks and beverages as directed. To carry out other relevant duties associated with the domestic service and periodically those as directed to support the wider Hotel Services Team e.g. catering or porter tasks.
DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES
Liaise with the Hotel Services Supervisor on the areas allocated for cleaning, the replenishment and use of approved cleaning chemicals and consumables and any additional tasks for the day.
Liaise with the Nursing Staff regarding the priorities for the daily cleaning requirements, for the coordination of any deep cleans when required and to receive advice on areas that may have restricted access or require specific precautions during the cleaning process.
Collaborate and coordinate with colleagues to enable the clean to be carried out productively and efficiently, ensuring that all elements within a room are signed for on completion on the cleaning schedule.
Having received priorities for daily cleaning, organise your own work accordingly working from clean areas to dirty and highest areas to lowest.
Assist in the economic use of resources and advise on the maintenance of reasonable stock levels and participating in reordering process when directed.
