Child Sexual Exploitation
**_Our mission is to help children and young people have a fair chance to be who they want to be._** **_We do this by providing a safe home, increasing life skills and self-confidence, and improving emotional wellbeing and mental health._**
**YMCA **What is Sexual Exploitation (WiSE)** works across Brighton and Hove, Surrey and East Sussex to support children and young people to stay safe in their relationships. A small, unique, charitable project specialising in supporting children and young people vulnerable to or experiencing child sexual exploitation. We work collaboratively around creation and sharing of resources, community knowledge, contextual safeguarding and team support.**
This is an exciting and dynamic role; providing holistic, child centred support to children and young people ranging from 10 to 25 years old who have been identified as being at significant risk of, or victims of sexual exploitation, with the possibility of some cases being victims of criminal exploitation. As a **Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Practitioner** you will manage a small caseload of high risk, complex cases of children and young people using session plans around topics such as healthy relationships, consent, sexual health, porn, boundaries, self-esteem, grooming, child sexual exploitation and child criminal exploitation.
You will be co-located at Reigate Police Station with their Exploitation Team, supporting within the boroughs of East Surrey (Epsom & Ewell, Reigate & Banstead, Redhill, Mole Valley, Tandridge) However, much of your time will be spent supporting children and young people within the community and a significant part of the role will involve lone working. **This is a hybrid role based out of Reigate Police Station, in the community for visits with young people and some opportunity to work from home. Shifts to be discussed at interview.**
You will ideally have a qualification in Youth Work / Social Work or equivalent qualification; or equivalent comparable experience working directly with vulnerable young people. You will have experience of working with vulnerable children and young people who have experienced abuse or trauma, being able to work independently; whilst managing a caseload of young people and have the ability to build supportive relationships with them. You will have knowledge of the risks posed to vulnerable young people through criminal and sexual exploitation, along with safeguarding knowledge and experience managing safeguarding concerns. **Please note, it is essential you hold a current driving license and have access to your own car for this role.**
**YMCA DLG requires all staff and volunteers to be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and to respond proactively to safeguarding concerns. Successful applicants are required to undertake an Enhanced DBS (including the Children’s and Adults’ barred lists)** **check. YMCA DownsLink Group's **Privacy Policy
